Monoprint on Fabriano Rosaspina paper with Ultramarine.
'Waterfall' is a unique work.
Monoprinting gives a single, unique impression that can only be made once. As the image runs through the press, all the ink on the plate is taken up onto the paper. Therefore not repeatable, hence the name.
Ultramarine was originally extracted from Lapis Lazuli, a semi precious stone coloured with the deep blue mineral Lazurite, by Venetians in the 14th century. Back then it had a greater value than gold. Today it’s still one the most expensive colours in an artist's series.
This print comes ready to hang in a custom-built black stained Oak Frame.
